Awareness – Health and Sanitation

“Health is much more dependent on our habits and nutrition than on our medicine”

As quoted by John Lubbock and followed by us. BEHBOOD THE SOCIETY initiated a project on Health and Sanitation by conducting a seminar to spread awareness about the risks of poor hygiene and bad habits which mostly the children are conversant with, followed by a short skit at Dudhli village on 18 June. The effort was made to showcase it in a realistic and humorous way which the children can relate to. The skit was performed where volunteers portrayed the consequences of certain bad habits such as ‘Not washing their hands before and after eating’, ‘Brushing your teeth twice a day’ and ‘Biting of nails’. Sanitation Kits were also distributed to around 25 students which included a, Toothbrush, Toothpaste, Soap and a Nail cutter. The purpose was to provide resources and knowledge to students about their health and sanitation. “Much like charity begins at home, sanitation and hygiene begins with you and me!”
